Las Vegas Downtown Civic Plaza and Administrative Buildings

THE STORY

As a city born at the height of 1950s car culture, Las Vegas had little park space and historically lacked a true, centralized ’public square’ for its people. This project was conceived to completely rewrite that narrative, transforming two square blocks of surface parking into a vibrant, unified municipal campus. Managing the project through detailed design phases, full technical construction modeling, and active on-site construction administration, our team brought this massive urban missing link to life, creating an infrastructure that centralizes municipal services while dedicating a vast new footprint entirely to public life, art, and community interaction.

THE VISION

The master plan anchors nearly 300,000 square feet of modern office towers around a sweeping two-acre open-air public common. The crown jewel of this outdoor realm is the massive Event Pavilion, structurally engineered to act as a shady, passive-cooled sanctuary during the day and an active performance stage for concerts, markets, and cultural festivals at night. Complete with a 1,000-square-foot indoor gallery curated by the Office of Cultural Affairs and rotating public art installations, the complex successfully fills a long-standing missing link in our city’s public life. It creates an energetic, light-filled municipal environment that functions as both a proud civic destination for Las Vegans and an exceptionally inspiring, connected place to work for over a thousand city employees.
