THE STORY

A call from a close friend to catch up quickly turned into an unexpected design pursuit for a room addition and complex garage redesign in Hawaii. Upon arrival, the immediate challenge was the extreme terrain. We had to tackle an intensely steep, winding driveway that compromised both vehicle access and the home’s entry flow. The design process was incredibly natural. We skipped the formal boardroom, transformed her kitchen table into an active design studio, and spent the weekend mapping out ways to completely optimize the site layout. Ideas took shape as fast as the trade winds. We navigated everything from inter-floor laundry chutes to an engineered garage overhaul and flexible multipurpose spaces utilizing operable partitions.

THE VISION

The intense, kitchen-table workshop kicked off a comprehensive design process that we advanced from initial master planning concepts through complete Design Development. Crafted to respond perfectly to the site’s unique topography and strict shore regulations, the final architectural package blends functional problem-solving with lifestyle luxury. The completed layout features an integrated indoor golf simulator and a master bath positioned to frame panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean.
